Documentary, photojournalism, candid — whatever you wanna call it. I’ve been a full time wedding & portrait photographer for 10 years, committed to finding beauty through an honest lens.

The finished gallery feels a lot like a souvenir box of love letters and post cards—thanking you for inviting me into your world. Without our time together I wouldn’t be the person I am today. And my art wouldn’t exist.

Let's talk.

“Looking at her work I see distilled joy: laughs, hugs, kids, dancing...all the little happy details that you just want to cherish forever.

When I’m an old lady, I’m gonna look at these photos and laugh and cry and relive that day all over again.”

Honoring the intangible.

I work with a mix of analog film & digital cameras – tools that bridge history with the present. Film whisks you away into a world of nostalgia and honesty, giving you tangible evidence of an experience that couldn’t be altered if I tried.

These tools work in harmony with how I approach my work – emotionally present, anticipating the laughter, staying perceptive of body language, and balancing empathy with courage to know when a photograph needs to be made.

The Process

“Josie captures so much heart and feeling in her work

that until I saw our photos had only existed in a vague memory.”’
